Arteta Scared Of Man Utd Fixture Over Triple Injury Woe

Arteta Triple Injury Woe

Arsenal got back to winning ways on Tuesday night as they came from behind to defeat Southampton 3-1 away from home.

The Gunners will be looking for another spirited performance when they host Manchester United at the Emirates this weekend – but Arteta’s side could be without a number of key players.

Kieran Tierney missed both matches against Southampton through a calf injury and it remains to be seen whether or not the Scotland international will be back for Saturday’s clash.

“I don’t know. He wasn’t available against Southampton in the FA Cup. He was injured,” said Arteta.

“He is still injured today. And let’s see how he progresses for the game against Man United.”

Arsenal were also handed a double scare as Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey were both forced off through injury at St. Mary’s on Tuesday night.

When asked if Partey came off with cramp, Arteta said: “We don’t know. He was feeling some discomfort. Hopefully it is nothing, but he was struggling.”

While on Smith Rowe, the Arsenal manager added: “He was injured for the game in the FA Cup, so he wasn’t available.“We knew that today he could probably not play the whole game and he has some muscular discomfort. He had to come off again.”
