Fernandes Finally Responds To Fans Criticizing Him Of Only Scoring Penalties

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has finally broke silence on the trending critics that his side are been awarded an unfair amount of penalties in the Premier League.

The Portuguese, who has been accused of being overrated by some fans because he scores penalties, has also hit back at them saying that the point of a PK is to score it and it’s not that easy, and having fast players like Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are also more likely to get fouled in the tight areas.

Fernandes has scored 15 penalties for Man United since arriving from Sporting CP last January.

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp even made a statement earlier this month that his side have been awarded lesser penalties in his entire time at Anfield (since October 2015) than Man United in just the last two-and-half seasons alone.

Nevertheless, Fernandes has responded to his critics, “You always hear what people say, but I really don’t care”, he said when speaking to Sky Sports.

“When you play for Benfica, Porto and Sporting, people are always saying that kind of stuff – probably to put pressure on the referee or just to make some noise in the press. But for me, the major point is when we are awarded a penalty if I go take it, I just have to do my job”.
