'I don't think he's tired': Zidane defends Benzema after lacklustre Celta display
The French coach says Karim did well even though he failed to score or provide an assist.
He believes Madrid are in a great spell despite Benzema's 2 consecutive goalless games.
"I don’t think he’s tired. I think he did well and I took him off so that another player could play," Zinedine Zidane defended Karim Benzema after an unimpressive Celta display in his post-match interview, as quoted by Goal.
"We’re in a great spell. We’re doing the right things and we have to continue like this," the French coach added.
Real Madrid beat Celta 2-0 but Benzema wasn't involved in either of the goals. The striker attempted 2 shots but none of them reached the target.
Benzema hasn't scored in 2 back-to-back games after scoring 6 times in 4 matches in a row in all competitions.
