Klopp Reveals Why Liverpool Won’t Sign A Centre-Back This Month

Klopp's lack of support

Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp disclosed that he was deprived of the central half that could have prevented Liverpool’s collapse – but insisted he won’t cry about it.

Klopp exposed the dynamics behind the lack of transfer activity of the club., in spite of the desperate need to cover the long-lasting injury to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

By deviating from his customary diplomatic approach, The Red’s Manager was outspoken about a lack of support, saying he recommended the urgent capture of a defender but the matter was taken out of his hands by financially prudent owners.

While there is obvious tension in the situation – with even a top-four finish now on the line – Klopp declared: “I am not a five-year-old kid any more and if I don’t get what I want I start crying.

“Most of the time in my life I didn’t get what I wanted, so pretty much used to that. We talk about a centre-half, and yes, it would help 100 percent.

“We discuss the situation pretty much on a daily basis, and I make recommendations.

“But I cannot spend the money. I don’t make these decisions. There are people who are responsible for the whole thing, and I cannot make their decisions.”
