Koeman give update Leo Messi injury ahead Barcelona Supercopa final

Koeman says that Messi and the doctors will have the final say in whether Leo plays vs Bilbao.

The coach believes that Barca has better chances of winning with their captain on the field.

During the press conference ahead of the Supercup final against Athletic Bilbao, Ronald Koeman was asked whether Leo Messi will be ready to play the match.

"I hope so. He is the best in the world and if he plays we have many more chances [to win]. Let's see how his body reacts. Messi and the doctors will have the last word,” the coach said.

"He trained individually yesterday, and today he will train with the group. We will see if he can be with us tomorrow or not. The player himself always has the final word. We will wait for tomorrow morning to see how he feels."

As a reminder, Leo missed the Supercup semi-finals against Real Sociedad through injury. However, it's said that the Argentine wasn't suffering from anything serious, just muscle discomfort, so he isn't totally ruled out for the upcoming clash.
