Koeman: it would be good for some players to leave on loan to get game time'

Koeman believes that it would be good for those who 'don't have much of a future' at Barca to leave.

The coach says that it would be difficult for the club to sign someone in January as the move would have to be approved by the new president.

During the press conference ahead of the Huesca game, Ronald Koeman confirmed that there might be some departures during the winter transfer market.

"Without mentioning names, I think that for some it would be good to leave to get some game time.

"Some are in a difficult situation at this club and we want to strengthen the squad. It would be good for those who are not going to have much of a future here to leave."

The coach could be talking about Carles Alena and Riqui Puig, who've been linked with a potential loan. The two La Masia midfielders have been barely getting any playing time this season. Besides, the Catalans reportedly wanted to send Matheus Fernandes on loan before the start of the season. So far, the Brazilian has played only one match.

However, this doesn't necessarily mean that Barcelona will sign someone in January, as any move would have to be approved by the president. The elections, however, will take place only on January 24.

"I know that when the new president arrives, he will not have much time to sign players. We have to be prepared to talk about the issue as soon as he arrives. I cannot change the date of the elections. We have to accept it.
