Man Utd Backroom Gets New Staff Inclusion In January Shake-Up

Darren Fletcher is now a member of Manchester United’s first-team coaching set-up after impressing during a spell with the Under-16s.

Fletcher has been training the youngsters since October but will now work alongside Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Carrington.

He will coach alongside Mike Phelan, Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna.

Former Manchester United midfielder and Scotland international Fletcher joins the first-team coaching staff at a good time.

Solskjaer’s Red Devils are firing on all cylinders at the moment and haven’t dropped points in the Premier League since November 1.

Last time out Manchester United beat Aston Villa 2-1, and former captain Roy Keane believes the Red Devils are in with a chance of winning the title this season.

“If they keep winning football matches [they can win the title],” said Keane on Sky Sports. “We were really critical of them at the start of the season – well I was, and rightly so, because their home form was so bad.”
