Man Utd To Sign This ‘Younger’ Version Of Cavani To Replace Anthony Martial

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed Edinson Cavani on a free transfer back in the summer but, at the age of 33, he’s approaching the twilight years of his career.

Speaking on Sunday, talkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy urged the Red Devils to sign a ‘younger’ version of Cavani to replace Anthony Martial, who has scored just twice in domestic football this term.

And Cundy said: “The things that we know about United, for me now, is no Bruno [Fernandes] no party.

“[But] United need a centre-forward. Martial again has shown that he just isn’t the answer. He’s not the answer up front.

“I mean, really [Marcus] Rashford is not that No 9 either, they have a role to play, but they need a younger Cavani.”

And the good news for Solskjaer’s side is that, sitting in their academy, is prolific goalscorer Joe Hugill.

His record at youth level is extraordinary.

He’s not a blockbuster name, at least yet, but looks as though he’s got the potential to become a huge Old Trafford hit.
