
According to the latest report which revealed that Wayne Rooney who has once played for Manchester United and been used in various midfield roles has been appointed the Derby County manager on a permanent basis in which his tenure will run for two-and-a-half-year contract and ends in the year 2023.
The reports claimed that Rooney has took charge of the team since the time the team have sacked Phillip Cocu in November whereby he coached 9 games for the team, won three matches and draws four games.
When signing the contract with the club Rooney said:
“When I first arrived back in the United Kingdom [after playing for DC UNITED] I was completely blown away by the potential of Derby County Football Club. The stadium, training ground, the quality of the playing staff and the young players coming through and of course the fan base that has remained loyal and supportive. Despite other offers, I knew instinctively Derby County was the place for me.”
Wayne Rooney scored 253 goals for United in all competitions to make him their top goalscorer of all time, with 183 Premier League goals being the most scored by a player for any single club.
