Pep Tells Chelsea What They Should’ve Done Instead Of Sacking Lampard

Instead Of Sacking Lampard

Frank Lampard has been sacked by Chelsea after just 18 months in charge.

Man City boss Pep Guardiola however believes the writing was on the wall for the 2-year-old when he started to lose games.

Guardiola admits he would have liked to have seen the Blues give Lampard more time – instead of sacking him following a bad run of results.

The Man City boss knows managers have to keep winning matches because long-term projects at the top clubs rarely exist anymore.

Pep said: “For all managers – you have to win. People talk about projects, but they don’t exist, you have to win or you’ll be sacked.

“Respect for Chelsea and hopefully I can see him (Lampard) soon, take him to a restaurant to see him again when lockdown is over.

“It depends on the results, not the philosophy or projects. You get results or you’ll be replaced.

“All the managers need it (patience). I’m not judging the decision from Chelsea, I respect the decision and that it has to be that way.”
