Solskjaer To Begin Major Clearout With These Six Fringe Players This Week

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will commence a major clearout this week by speaking to six of his fringe players about a loan or permanent moves away from the club, according to reports.

Solskjaer rarely uses several members of his 35-man squad and is keen to create space for more signings at the end of this season.

That will lead to showdown talks this week with the likes of goalkeeper Sergio Romero, who reportedly wants to right the wrong he felt when a deadline day move was dashed last summer.

Injury-hit defender Phil Jones is said to be a target for struggling West Brom and Marcos Rojo is reportedly wanted by Newcastle.

Out-of-favour livewire Jesse Lingard, who had his contract extended by a year earlier this week, has been linked with a surprise move to Tottenham, potentially reuniting him with former United boss Jose Mourinho.

Winger Daniel James has still been a peripheral figure for much of the season and could be set for a loan move to continue his development.
