Thiago Silva Rejects Thomas Tuchel As Incoming Chelsea Boss

Silva Rejects Tuchel As Chelsea Boss

Thomas Tuchel is set to replace Frank Lampard as Chelsea manager after the latter was dismissed on Monday morning.

Silva played under the 47-year-old for two seasons, winning the domestic treble and reaching the Champions League final last summer before moving to Stamford Bridge as a free agent.

And although Tuchel was dismissed by Paris Saint-Germain on Christmas Eve 2020, Silva claimed he knew the writing was on the wall for his former manager even while he was still at the club earlier that year.

Silva’s comments on Tuchel may make for a tense reunion once the manager arrives at the club’s Cobham training ground to begin his tenure.

The 36-year-old also praised Tuchel’s replacement at PSG, Mauricio Pochettino, during his interview with French outlet RMC Sport.

“Mauricio Pochettino did a good job with Tottenham, I think he comes very motivated, 20 years after playing for PSG. He knows the club a bit.

“Of course that has changed a lot, but he knows football a lot, he will work with very high level players. I am still a supporter of PSG.”
