United boss Solskjaer reacts on losing another semi-final in a row: 'It's not psychological'

Man United was eliminated from the EFL Cup on Wednesday and Ole insists the Red Devils are far from being a finished article.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the 2-0 defeat against Manchester City, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "You know they can score great goals but when you concede goals like that from set pieces, it's very disappointing.

"When they play well, we have to play really well and that's the reality of where we're at right now. This is a much better version of Manchester United than the semi-finals against Man City [in the EFL Cup] last season.

"It's not psychological [losing in four consecutive semi-finals]. Sometimes you meet good teams in the semis. We met, at the moment, Man City are probably the best team in England.

"It's still not good enough and we have work to do, it's a time to dust ourselves down and get ready for the FA Cup, the Premier League and then back to the Europa League."

Up next for the Red Devils is an FA Cup clash at home against Watford on Saturday and the Premier League trip to Burnley on January 12.
