'We can’t lose more': Koeman talks Barca's title ambitions

Barca is now seven points behind league leaders Atletico with Diego Simeone's men having a two-game advantage over the Catalans.

Ronald Koeman admits his team can't lose more points if they want to claim the La Liga title this term.

“It’s another game and you can’t trust the results of other days,” Ronald Koeman told the pre-Granada press conference on Friday, as quoted by Marca.

“It’s another rival, another ground. If we’re not at our level, the opposition can complicate the game a lot. You have to be humble and do things well with and without the ball, and show personality on the pitch.”

Barcelona started off the new year with back-to-back victories at Huesca and Athletic Bilbao. The Catalans will take on Granada at Los Carmenes on Saturday.

“We knew it would be a tough week with three away games,” Koeman continued.

“We have to recover and show that we still can do it, both to ourselves and others. We aren’t in a situation where more points can be lost. There’s great pressure – we know that we can’t lose. Because of our position, we can’t lose more.”

As things stand now, the Blaugrana are now fourth in the table, seven points adrift of league leaders Atletico Madrid. What's more, Diego Simeone's men have two games in hand over Barca.
