‘We know it’s not a joke’: Bruno links Covid-19 aftermath for Pogba's poor start

Speaking about Paul Pogba’s difficulties in the early part of the season for Man United, Bruno Fernandes told NBC Sport: “We ended the season really well playing together.

“But of course the beginning of the season was hard for Paul because he had Covid. We know it's not a joke, it's hard to come back after 15 days isolated doing nothing.

“It was really difficult for Paul to find his form but I think he's much better and feeling much more confident. The goal against West Ham gave him much more confidence to understand. The team needs him and he has the quality to help us.”

Pogba recently spoke in detail about the aftermath of Covid-19 on his physical state, saying that it left him getting tired and out of breath too easily after rigorous exercises. Fortunately, the Frenchman’s physical condition has improved over the last few weeks and he’s now working really well with Bruno to cause chaos in the attack for United and help them stay alive in the Premier League title race.
