Ex-German international Friedrich reveals why Messi 'harder to defend' against than Ronaldo

Leo Messi is more difficult to play against because he has a different centre of gravity, says former Hertha defender.

“I was able to play against both Messi and Ronaldo,” ex-Germany international Arne Friedrich said in an interview with Goal and SPOX.

“If I had to commit myself to one, it would be Messi. He has a different centre of gravity, Ronaldo is more my size. Both are at the same level, but Messi was harder to defend for me because he had a different style of play.”

After all these years of Leo's rivalry with Cristiano, it's still hard to pick the best out of the two. For now, Messi has won six Ballon d'Ors but Ronaldo has five Champions League titles.
