Solskjaer Reveals When Edinson Cavani Contract Will Be Renewed

Edinson Cavani Contract Renewed

Edinson Cavani has established himself as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s main centre-forward over Anthony Martial.

The Uruguay international has scored a respectable seven goals for the Red Devils so far, proving to be worth the club’s faith in him.

And Solskjaer, speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League showdown with Newcastle on Sunday, has revealed talks over a new contract will happen in the near future – with the player’s contract expiring at the end of the campaign.

“I can only say Edinson has done well,” said Solskjaer. “I’ve been impressed by him, he’s really gelled in the group and we’ll sit down and speak with him in the near future to see his plans and our plans.

“It’s a good discussion to have. We always speak to the players and with his contract situation at the moment we’re very pleased with what he’s done.”

Cavani missed United’s emphatic 4-0 win over Real Sociedad on Thursday night.

The Red Devils ran riot, with Bruno Fernandes scoring twice and Marcus Rashford and Daniel James also finding the net.
