These Premier League Teams are the Strongest This Season

Premier League Teams Strongest

The 2020-2021 season of the Premier League is beginning to look like one of the most exciting title races in recent memory.

While there have been plenty of title races with three main competing teams in the past, this season there appear to be four challengers to the crown.

This is a unique proposition, and one with a lot of momentum behind it.

Let’s cover which four teams are the strongest in the league right now, and what they are doing well this season.

Manchester City

Manchester City is having an amazing season so far, currently placed at the top of the Premier League standings. Most analysts already feel they are the clear champions-to-be and are wondering if any club has the power to challenge them in their current form.

For instance, Manchester is the overwhelming -200 favorite in their upcoming matchup against Everton, who is +600. If Manchester City can continue on this course, it’s going to be hard to beat them.

Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has clearly been leading this squad up until his hamstring injury sidelined him for a couple weeks.

Rumors are that he should be returning soon, bringing this team back to full force. Overall, they have one of the most talented lineups in the league currently.

Another great component of Manchester City this season is John Stones and Rúben Dias coming together as a solid defensive unit.

Liverpool

You’ve probably heard the stories and criticism by now. Analysts and fans combined have been quick to call out Liverpool recently, claiming that they are not what they were last season.

Perhaps they deserve some of that considering how dominant they were last year, but Liverpool is still in the top and hunting for the cup.

While Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané are all incredible players, they have not had the same effect they had in their incredible performance over last season.

Meanwhile, Alisson Becker is still one of the best goalkeepers in the league, and this will matter more as the season chugs along.

Liverpool is still in a good position and coach Jürgen Klopp knows what he can bring out of this squad. The pressure is on if they want a Champions League spot.

Leicester City

Leicester City has been somewhat underrated all season long, but their endurance and consistency has netted real results and now they are in the championship conversation.

They currently sit in 3rd place in the rankings, just ahead of Liverpool, and are coming off a big win over the Reds after a last minute rally where they scored three goals in seven minutes.

As we head into the final stretch of the season, Leicester City is picking up steam and fans along the way.

Striker Jamie Vardy has been playing his heart out this season, and is receiving a lot of attention from the football media. He leads the club in scoring, with 12 goals and 5 assists across the last 20 matches.

However, the team is very well-rounded and they do not depend on the strength of Vardy alone.

James Maddison has really picked things up lately, and midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been a massive success as well.

In a morale move, the team has signed former club striker Emile Heskey to the coaching staff and he will certainly bring along his expertise to help keep this club on the right track.

Manchester United

Another squad who unexpectedly has been receiving a lot of criticism this season is Manchester United, but this hasn’t stopped them from securing the 2nd place position in the rankings, though they are neck and neck with Leicester City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s team is now playing at the height of their potential, and they will need to keep it up in this final stretch.

Bruno Fernandes is the all around best player for Manchester United, and certainly one of the biggest stars in the league overall.

He’s shown time and time again that he has the ability to score from anywhere on the pitch. Midfielder Paul Pogba has also found his rhythm on the team, being very productive over the last few weeks.

Manchester United’s defense has been dominant, with Victor Lindelöf, Harry Maguire, and Eric Bailly.
