Rodgers Confirms Iheanacho’s New Deal

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho’s brilliant form in March has seen him named the Premier League’s EA Sports Player of the Month.

And Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed he will hand the Nigerian a new deal as he prepares to unleash Iheanacho against his old club Manchester City on Saturday.

Iheanacho has emerged a vital starter this year following injuries to the likes of Vardy, Harvey Barnes and James Maddison.

He scored a hat-trick in the 5-0 romp against Sheffield United in their last Premier League game when Vardy assisted him twice with perfect crosses from the left.

Now Iheanacho has old club in his sights after his brace dumped Manchester United out of the FA Cup.

Rodgers has confirmed plans to give the 24-year-old forward a new deal soon as Iheanacho’s original five-year terms expire in next year.

Rodgers said: “He is definitely someone we would want.

“That is what you aim to have, a squad which is developing and getting better and he can contribute for you.
