Harry Maguire Injury Update Emerges Ahead Of Europa League Final

Manchester United could now be forced to take on Villarreal in Gdansk on May 26 without Harry Maguire after he hobbled off in Sunday’s win over Aston Villa.

Maguire clashed with Anwar El Ghazi and was subsequently forced off with 12 minutes remaining.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted after the contest that the injury could yet keep the Skipper out for a month.

The Norwegian said: “Hopefully [the Europa League final] will be OK with Harry. I don’t know.

“We need to check it. It might be a few weeks or a month – we don’t know.

“It was his ankle or lower leg. I think the player landed on him and he twisted something.”

Maguire had not missed a single minute of league action since joining the Red Devils from Leicester in 2019 but that run will now come to an end.

United will play four times in 12 days before the season ends, starting with Tuesday’s visit of Leicester.
