Aguero returns ahead of schedule to train in Barcelona

Aergio Aguero has returned to Barcelona ahead of schedule and took to the Blaugrana's training ground to carry out a morning session on Friday.

While Emerson and Lionel Messi, who has yet to renew his contract, are expected to join the rest of their teammates next week, Aguero returned from his holidays to kick off his pre-season preparations ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, despite having a few more days off.

"I am very happy to start training and I am eager and desperate to see my teammates," said Aguero, who spent the last days of his holidays in Ibiza.

Aguero, who joined on a free transfer from Manchester City and is one of the four Barcelona signings so far this summer, trained with the team's fitness coach, Juanjo Brau.

For the time being, Barcelona's attacking options are Antoine Griezmann, Memphis Depay, Martin Braithwaite and Aguero, as Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele are recovering from their respective injuries, while Messi has yet to extend his deal, one which expired on July 1.
