Barcelona confirm appeal against De Jong's sending off

Barcelona have confirmed via their website that an appeal will be presented to the Competition Committee over the second yellow card issued to Frenkie de Jong against Cadiz.

The club will also appeal the yellow card shown to Sergio Busquets in the 96th minute.

De Jong picked up his second booking four minutes after being cautioned for a foul. However, the second offence seemed harsh as the Dutchman clearly got the ball in the challenge.

As for Busquets, he was yellow-carded for throwing on a second ball towards an opponent who was already in possession.

Surprisingly, there's no mention of the club contesting the referee's decision to send off Ronald Koeman at the end of the game.
