EO denies Dortmund will be forced to sell Erling Haaland next summer

Reports have emerged that Borussia Dortmund will need to sell Erling Haaland for financial reasons.

The club is listed on the stock exchange, and as per the rumours, the only way to pay the investors. However, Dortmund's CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has rubbished the reports.

"It has not yet been decided whether he will really leave in the summer," Watzke has told Sport 1.

"We'll just have a look. I heard someone say: 'They have to sell Haaland because they are listed on the stock exchange.' This is all bullsh*t.

"The decision whether someone is sold at our company is made by the management and only by the management."

However, it's understood that Haaland's contract has a release clause between €75 million and €100 million, so it's looking like the Norwegian will be leaving Dortmund next summer whether the club wants it or not.
