Man United players rating in Newcastle win with Ronaldo 10/10

Ronaldo - 10/10
Has there ever been a better second debut in football history? We hardly think so.

Ronaldo hit the ground running (how is the man 36?) and scored right before half-time to give United an edge. And he added another one to his tally in the second half. His mentality has rubbed off on the rest of the team as well.

Bruno - 8/10
Struggled with maintaining possession in the first half but recovered well after the break. Scored a brilliant goal to make it 3-1 for United. Also, excellent link-up plays with both Ronaldo and Pogba.

Matic - 6/10
To his credit, Matic actually played better against Newcastle. He held his own well and even initiated a counter-attack or two. A disciplined display from the Serbian.

Varane - 8/10
A Rolls-Royce defender, indeed! Defended well in the first half and kept Joelinton quiet for most of the game. Unlucky not to get on the score sheet but overall, solid.

Sancho - 5/10
Definitely far from his best. Sancho's movement up top wasn't bad but he offered little threat going forward. Was subbed after an hour.

The rest: De Gea - 7/10, Wan-Bissaka - 5/10, Shaw - 7/10, Maguire - 7/10, Pogba - 6.5/10, Greenwood - 6/10.

Subs: Martial - 5/10, Van de Beek - 6/10, Lingard - 7/10.
