In his big interview with Marca, Miralem Pjanic was asked whether the Barcelona door had closed for him.
"I have a contract and I've always spoken highly of the club. I just had bad luck with the coach," the Bosnian replied.
"But Barcelona are Barcelona. I cannot spend another year without playing, I have to play. I'm focused, happy and I can't wait to start the season with Besiktas.
"Do I regret joining them? No, never. Things happen in life, and I've always fought through my career. I'm ambitious, competitive, I've reached the level of Barcelona and Juventus. I know I can play for those teams, I just wasn't given a chance."
Pjanic's contract with Barca runs until 2024, and he's joined Besiktas on loan for one year only and there is no buy option included. So, as things stand, the 31-year-old will return to Camp Nou next summer, although it remains to be seen whether he will remain there.
