Real Madrid extended Valverde contract to stop interest from Premier League clubs

The reputable Fabrizio Romano reports that Real Madrid decided to extend the contract of Federico Valverde to avoid proposals from the Premier League clubs over the Uruguayan next summer.

He adds that foreign clubs started showing interest in the 23-year-old months ago.

However, Valverde's new deal until 2027 serves as a good indication that he is untouchable and that Real Madrid consider him a key player for the future.

As expected, Fede has had a very important role at the start of the season. The midfielder has started in all three of the Whites' league matches so far.
