The world of football has seen and was blessed with tremendous talents in the fullback position in the past decades.

These fullbacks are either retired or still active in the trade we will be taking a look at some of these 3 great talented players.

 1. DANI ALVES 

The Brazilian defender is not showing any sign of slowing down at the age of 38 as he currently led the Brazil team to a Gold medal in the just-concluded Olympic competition.

The former FC Barcelona fullback who is currently the most decorated footballer in the history of football and is arguably the finest fullback ever to have graced the world of the round leather game and  La Roja.

In his long successful career, the former  Sevilla and Barcelona player accumulated a total of  43 trophies after adding the Olympic gold to his collection.

After signing for Sevilla in 2002, the defender has gone on to play for some top teams in Europe teams like Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain before moving back to Brazil in 2019 where he joined São Paulo.

2. PHILLIP LAHM

Philipp Lahm is a German retired professional footballer who played as a right-back or defensive midfielder both for club and country during his playing days he spent much of his career playing left-back.

The former Bayern Munich captain and German national team was ever-present during his country 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign and was the only player to play every single minute and same was the case during the 2014 FIFA World Cup which the Germans lifted after which he announced his retirement.  

During his active days in Football, the little man was known for his strength and overlapping runs and also his versatility across the pitch. The fullback lifted a total of  22 trophies which places him in the league of the greatest fullbacks in the world. 

3. PATRICE EVRA

Patrice Evra primarily who plays as a left-back, was at a point in time during his playing days at Manchester United praised by his manager Sir Alex Ferguson for his leadership skill and also describing him as one of the best left-backs in Europe he also captained both Manchester United and the France national team.

Evra was also known for his attacking prowess despite his smallish stature the french defender was hardly bullied by the bigger boys on the field of play. He has participated in five major international tournaments for France 2008, 2012 and 2016 UEFA European Championships, winning a runners-up medal at Euro 2016 and both the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.

During his playing days for Manchester United, the French man lifted 5 Premier League titles, 3 Football League Cups, 4 FA Community Shield, 1 UEFA Champions League and 1 FIFA Club World Cup. When he moved to Juventus, he lifted 2 Serie A tittles 2 Coppa Italia and 1 Supercoppa Italiana.
