Man United 'to offer Harry Maguire new five-year contract worth £300,000-a-week'

Manchester United are set to offer Harry Maguire a lucrative new contract.

As reported by The Sun, United want to reward their captain for establishing himself as a key figure for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Maguire currently earns £189,000-a-week, with his contract running until the summer of 2025.

Given how highly is regarded at Old Trafford, United are prepared to offer Maguire wages of £300,000-a-week.

United are eager to tie Maguire down to a new five-year deal and have approached the defender as they look to start early negotiations.

The centre-back has made 114 appearances for United since he joined for £80million from Leicester in 2019, a move that made him the world's most expensive defender.

Maguire also possesses plenty of experience at international level having been capped by England on 39 occasions.

Currently sidelined with a calf injury, Maguire will hope to be back fit soon and will be determined to strike up an effective long-term partnership with summer arrival Raphael Varane at the heart of the United defence.

United are currently in fourth place in the Premier League and will face Maguire's former club Leicester away when they return to action next Saturday.
