Bayern Munich In Talks With Manuel Neuer Over Contract Extension

Neuer's current deal is set to expire in 2023 and he remains the undisputed number one at the Allianz Arena, despite being 35-years-old.

He joined the club back in 2011 and soon established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper - and later the best in his position in the world. He has won a host of honours over the past decade, including nine Bundesliga titles and two Champions Leagues.

He was also a World Cup winner with Germany in 2014 and remains in front of Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the battle for Die Mannschaft's goalkeeping jersey.

According to Sport1, Neuer feels fit and has no intention of calling time on his career at the top level any time soon. Bayern are happy with his performances this season too, and are ready to extend his deal.

It is understood that a two-year lengthening is likely, which would keep Neuer at the club until the end of the 2024/25 season - though an even longer stay cannot be ruled out at this stage.

Neuer's potential renewal would be bad news for Alexander Nubel. Controversially signed on a free transfer from Schalke in 2020, he barely featured during his first season at the club, making just one Bundesliga appearance in a dead rubber against Freiburg.
