Edin Bosnia Turn Down Inter Plea To Rest Dzeko

Bosnia assistant manager Elvir Rahimic admits Inter ‘don’t want us to risk Edin Dzeko, but that’s ridiculous. If he’s ready, he will play.’

The centre-forward went off early during the 1-1 draw with Milan on Sunday evening, suffering from a slight muscular issue.

He went on international duty with Bosnia and Herzegovina anyway, even though Simone Inzaghi expressed his concerns that Dzeko could suffer a relapse or do more damage if he is not adequately rested.

“We hope that Dzeko is ready, but he’s doing well and we believe he can play,” said Bosnia assistant manager Rahimic in his press conference today.

“We read Inzaghi’s comments and Inter don’t want us to risk Dzeko, but that’s ridiculous. If Dzeko is ready, then he will certainly play.”

The 35-year-old former Roma hitman has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 16 competitive games for Inter so far this season.
