Speaking about being linked to become the next Newcastle United manager, Unai Emery told Movistar: “The only certainty is that they have shown interest in me, but I don't have bigger news than that.
“There is no offer. If there was it would be through the club. I'm focused, I can't say I'm going. I'm going to continue preparing for the Getafe game and that's the attitude I'm going to have.”
Emery saw his Villarreal side defeat Young Boys in the Champions League group game on Tuesday, boosting their chances of making it to the knockout places.
But Newcastle are intent on swooning away the Spaniard from Villarreal and even willing to pay the La Liga club a hefty ‘transfer fee’ to let their manager go mid-way through the season.
