Speaking to MUTV after the 2–2 draw with Atalanta in the Champions League, Luke Shaw said: "Eric Bailly was unbelievable.
"I think he hasn't had many chances and of course it is tough, it is not easy for someone to not play for that long and to come into a game like this; the way they pressed, at their home place, a very difficult game.
"He was incredible, a big well done to him for the way he has been over the last few months. He has trained well, trained hard and patiently waited for his chance.
"I think he took it tonight really well and I think that is the level now for him, he needs to show day in, day out and of course in the next game."
Bailly will likely have an opportunity to establish himself as a first-team player at Manchester United now that Raphael Varane is out for a month.
