Simon Kjaer Praise Milan Coach Pioli For Work On And Off The Pitch

Denmark international Simon Kjaer has praised Milan coach Stefano Pioli for his work on and off the pitch. ‘He is an excellent coach and a fantastic person’.

The Denmark captain spoke to TV2 Sport after the 3-1 win over Faroe Island at Parken Stadium om Friday, when Bologna winger Andreas Skov Olsen scored the opening goal and Atalanta full-back Joakim Maehle added the third in the final minutes.

Kjaer is the leader in a Danish side full of Serie A experience and the centre-back was asked about his experience with the Rossoneri, who are currently joint leaders with Napoli in the Italian league.

Pioli picked up the veteran in January 2020, when he arrived from Sevilla, and the former Atalanta player has since established himself as an integral member of the squad at Milanello.

After the run of eight clean sheets in the World Cup Qualifiers was ended by Faroe Islands yesterday, Kjaer spoke to the media about the impressive performances from Denmark, who also reached the semi-finals at EURO 2020 over the summer.

During the interview, he also talked about Pioli’s impact at San Siro and Kjaer hailed his boss.

“Pioli is an excellent coach,” he told TV2 Sport. “At the same time, he’s a fantastic person who takes care of all his players.

“He creates a team-level structure both on and off the pitch.”

Pioli has worked wonders since arriving at Milan, taking over a side struggling to compete with the best in Serie A and has helped the club return to the Champions League, while fighting for the Scudetto in Italy.
