Sterling reportedly tells Manchester City he wants to leave on loan

Raheem Sterling has told Manchester City about his desire to leave the club on loan in January, as per City Xtra.

Sterling's challenge at Manchester City is that there are too many players who can do exactly what he does and even better.

With the likes of Jack Grealish, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus, competition for playing time at City is stiffer than ever.

As a result, Sterling has been limited to one start in the Champions League and 3 in the Premier League, after 15 games this season.

The 26-year-old is a top target for Barcelona, who are shopping for low-cost reinforcements in the winter market.
