UEFA has announced that it will not take Anthony Elanga’s racism case to its disciplinary committee after investigating him being allegedly racially abused in an international game.
The incident happened when Elanga played for Sweden U-21 against Italy U-21 in October.
After the game, the Man United youngster claimed he was racially abused by an Italian player.
Speaking on UEFA discarding the issue, the winger said: “I am of course very disappointed, I know what I heard and what happened. I hope the appeal can lead to something. I am grateful for the support I received from my teammates and the association.”
Sweden’s Football Association has announced that they will appeal to this decision as they are seeking justice for the harrowing incident Elanga had to go through.
