Barcelona President Laporta against sending Dembele to the stands for rest of the season
Barcelona's president Joan Laporta is against the idea of sending Ousmane Dembele to the stands for the rest of the season if he doesn't renew his contract, Catalunya Radio's Ramon Salmurri reports.
It was reported previously that Barca's technical area decide to put the 24-year-old on the market for €10m. If he didn't leave, the plan would have been not to use him for the rest of the season.
Dembele has been an important player for Xavi this term, playing from the start when fit. So far, he's made eight appearances for Barcelona and has provided two assists.
Ousmane's contract with the Catalans runs until the end of the season and he's decided not to extend it. The Frenchman is reportedly unhappy with the salary Blaugrana have offered.
