Chelsea's request to postpone Wolves game rejected by Premier League

Chelsea currently have six first-team players out with COVID after testing positive in the last couple of days.

The Telegraph report that the Blues requested the Premier League to postpone the Wolves clash today but the request has been rejected.

Six fixtures for this weekend have already been delayed due to a COVID outbreak at the clubs but Chelsea's game will go ahead.

At the time of writing, Romelu Lukaku, Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi have been tested positive. Two other unnamed players are also reportedly on Chelsea's absent list.

The reason for the rejection has not been revealed.
