Dortmund chief makes Haaland claim as Chelsea linked with striker again
Erling Haaland was heavily linked with Chelsea last summer. However, Dortmund were not willing to sell him for anything less than £150m at the time and the Blues ended up signing Romelu Lukaku instead.
As per multiple reports, the Blues are still keeping an eye on Haaland's situation next summer. Here is the latest claim made by Dortmund chief executive Michael Zorc over the player's future: "The fact is that he has a contract.
"But it’s also a fact, and this is no secret, that he can leave the club under certain conditions."
The German executive could be referring to the release clause of £75m that comes into play next summer. That price is excellent for a player of Haaland's age and quality but with so many clubs interested, Dortmund will have a pick of which offer to choose from.
It's not a given that the Blues will sign the striker if they show their interest again - we can expect a bidding war for Haaland next summer.
