Erling Haaland and Amadou Haidara with more names in Man United’s latest transfer round-up

The January transfer window is now less than a week away from opening and Man United transfer rumours are piling up.

So let’s get to the players linked with the Red Devils over the last week or so.

Potential arrivals
Erling Haaland: Man United are among the 3 clubs who are willing to pay Haaland’s €75m release clause next year, claims Bild. But Fabrizio Romano states a deal is difficult to execute because of Mino Raiola’s role.

Amadou Haidara: United are ready to sign a defensive midfielder for Ralf Rangnick in January and remain interested in signing Haidara, as per MEN.

Boubacar Kamara: The young midfielder is in a contract stalemate with Marseille and could sign a pre-contract agreement with United next month, according to L’Equipe.

Florian Wirtz: Man United are leading the race to sign the Bayer Leverkusen youngster, who Rangnick greatly admires, as per the Sun.

Julian Alvarez: Argentine outlet TNT Sports have claimed that the Red Devils are in advanced talks to sign Alvarez from River Plate as a long-term replacement for Edinson Cavani.

Kieran Trippier: United remain interested in the right-back and have enquired about the possibility to sign him in the winter window, as per 90min.

Tyler Adams: The Athletic claims that United are also considering a move to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams, who assistant coach Chris Armas is a huge fan of.

Potential exits
Anthony Martial: Rangnick has confirmed that Martial wants to leave in January. Sevilla are interested to sign him, but the Frenchman's excessive wage demands keep holding back a deal.

Edinson Cavani: Cavani remains interested in a winter move, but Barcelona have cooled their interest in signing him. Sevilla, however, could be willing to sign him, as per Catalan media outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Jesse Lingard: The Englishman won’t be leaving United in January, but is likely to leave for free in the summer transfer window – claims the Telegraph.

Phil Jones: Jones has emerged as a potential target for Benfica and could join them in January, as per the Daily Mail.

Paul Pogba: The Frenchman is unlikely to leave in January as he wants to play under Rangnick. United are also not negotiating with any club over his sale, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Juan Mata: Barcelona have emerged as potential suitors for the Spaniard and are interested in signing him in January or in the summer, claims Daily Star.

Anthony Elanga: BBC’s Simon Stone has stated that there’s ‘loads of interest’ among clubs to sign Elanga on loan in January, but Rangnick wants to keep him for the second half of the season.
