Lyon reject Chelsea options recall Emerson from loan.

An injury to Reece James has furthered Chelsea's injury crisis at wingback, with Ben Chilwell already out for the season.

The Blues are looking at options in January, with Everton's Lucas Digne emerging as one of the prime candidates.

Chelsea have also reportedly made an initial approach to bring Emerson back from his Lyon loan.

However, according to Nizaar Kinsella, the French club has rejected the notion as there is no break clause in the loan deal.

Lyon also have an option to buy the Italian international at the end of the season but it remains to be seen if they will.
