Monaco appear to have stolen a march over Brentford in the race to sign Gremio right-back Vanderson.
The 20-year-old was heavily linked to the Premier League club in recent weeks.
However, 90Min suggests that Vanderson will sign for Monaco in January instead.
Brentford may have been financially unable to match the offer from Monaco.
Another suggestion is that the player may have preferred a move to Ligue 1 at this stage of his development.
