Barcelona wants a left-back to compete with Jordi Alba and Alejandro Grimaldo has again emerged as an option, Marca report. The Catalans want to sign the 26-year-old already in January.
Grimaldo is open to a return. He is a La Masia graduate, having left the club in 2016 in search of more playing time.
It's not the first time Barca has contacted Benfica over the Spaniard. Previously, the Eagles wanted €30m for Grimaldo. They have significantly lowered their asking price now, though, with Alex's contract set to expire already in 2023.
Grimaldo is a key player for Benfica. This term so far, he's registered four goals and five assists in 30 matches.
