Fiorentina Chief: Vlahovic Silent Over Transfer Future

Fiorentina chief executive Joe Barone confirmed the club has received an offer from a Premier League side for Dusan Vlahovic, but the striker has "other ideas".

Arsenal retain a strong interest in the 21-year-old Serbian, but it remains a difficult deal to do in January due to the size of the transfer fee involved.

"Some English clubs have made contact with Fiorentina, but there's no agreement and there can't be if someone... [doesn't talk]," Barone told Florence-based newspaper La Nazione. "In any case, we're open (to selling).

"The English clubs want Vlahovic, but evidently he's got other ideas. We're ready to negotiate, but him and his agent won't talk.

"There's been no communication from the player and his agents, although I asked them to be clear about their wishes."

Vlahovic has refused to sign a contract extension with Fiorentina, with his current deal expiring in 2023, but he is unwilling to leave the Artemio Franchi before this summer.

Reports in Italy on Friday claim Juventus have accelerated their pursuit of Vlahovic and are preparing an official bid to sign the striker this month.
