Man United value Jesse Lingard 'at £50m', insist on £12m bonus from Newcastle

Manchester United are standing firm in talks with Newcastle regarding a loan agreement for Jesse Lingard.

According to the Guardian, a tier-two source, the Red Devils value the forward at £50 million despite his expiring contract.

Therefore, Man United insist that the £12 million bonus the Magpies would have to pay if they avoid relegation this season is 'good value'.

At the moment, it remains to be seen whether Newcastle are ready to pay a loan fee plus bonus in addition to covering Lingard's entire salary of £100,000-a-week.

Man United will let Jesse Lingard join Newcastle on 3 conditions — explained

The winter transfer window closes on January 31 but Manchester United are yet to sort out Jesse Lingard's future.

Newcastle United are interested in taking the 28-year-old on loan until the end of the season as they look to avoid relegation to the Championship.

But since the Englishman's contract at Old Trafford expires in June 2022, the Red Devils have a list of demands as they look to maximise their own financial gains.

Man United are asking for a loan fee of £6 million in addition to Newcastle covering Lingard's entire £100,000-per-week salary, as well as a bonus payment if the Magpies stay up this season.

Ralf Rangnick confirms Jesse Lingard will leave United in summer in bizarre TikTok video

Ralf Rangnick has casually confirmed that Jesse Lingard will not be at Man United beyond this season.

In a TikTok video posted by user PhezTheRed, the interim boss is chatting to the fans outside Old Trafford.

When one of the fans pleaded for United to keep Lingard because he's 'has got United in his head', Rangnick bluntly replied that 'he will leave in the summer'.

It's not surprising as such that Lingard will leave United after this season. His contract expires in the summer, and there's no sign of the talks to extend it.

However, you don't see managers revealing such news directly to the fans every day.

Meanwhile, it's not clear if Lingard stays at Old Trafford until the end of this season. He has got a concrete approach from Newcastle, but the deal appears to be dead due to Man United's demands.
