Nigeria born striker Jordon Ibe set to join Turkish side

Former Liverpool of England winger, Jordon Ibe is set to join the expanding legion of players with Nigerian descent that are plying their soccer trade in Turkey, e360hubs.com reports.

This is sequel to reports emanating from The Land of The Ottoman that the velvety Nigerian-born lad, who has also played for Bournemouth of England, is receiving medicals at Adanaspor.

Daily Telegraph journalist, Mike McGrath reported that Ibe was set to undergo a medical at Adanaspor, who play in Turkey’s second tier, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) First League.

The 26-year-old Ibe confirmed the move on social media, posting photos on his Instagram of him in Istanbul, along with a picture of him boarding a plane with the caption: “The journey begins now.”

It is a welcome development for the star, who has been without a club since leaving Derby County in 2021, after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

Ibe added: “Today I close the door on the past, open the door to the future, take a deep breath, step on through and start a new chapter in my life.”
