Rangnick Lauds McTominay's Performance Against Brentford

Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has heaped praises on Scottish Midfielder Scott McTominay over his commanding presence in their EPL clash with Brentford.

Rangnick Lauds McTominay's Performance Against Brentford

Scott McTominay did well to overcome a slow start as he became one of the standout Manchester United performers in the 3-1 win over Brentford.

Acknowledging his contribution, Ralf Rangnick told MUTV: "In the first half, we were second best in all aspects of the game.

"In the second half, Scott was exemplary, a real leader, he played with authority when we needed it most.

"That had a positively contagious effect on all the players in the centre of the pitch.

"By winning those duels in the second half, we had our counter-attacking moments and we knew we could play with speed and tempo at their goal, make their back three drop back and play in one-v-one sprinting duels."

The interim boss added: "Scott won almost all second balls in the second half and we could have scored four or five but I have to admit we couldn’t have complained if we had been 2-0 down."

McTominay appeared to pick up an injury with six minutes left on the clock and was substituted.

However, Rangnick has confirmed that it's nothing to worry about and the midfielder will be available to face West Ham on Saturday.

Scotty had a 100% tackle success rate, which is incredible considering he was the sole defensive midfielder. Clearly, he's benefiting under Rangnick so far.
