President Florentino Perez wants to keep Karim Benzema for another season before unleashing the Vinicius Jr—Haaland—Mbappe front three in the 2023/24 campaign.
For what it's worth, Haaland's controversial agent Mino Raiola has recently confirmed that the 21-year-old striker could stay at Borussia Dortmund for at least another season.
