Newcastle united fullback Kieran Trippier has revealed that Manchester United were keen on bringing him.
Trippier left Atletico Madrid for Newcastle earlier this January market.
He told the Athletic: “After the Euros, there was a serious interest in me.
I should be more careful with my words because I don't want any more trouble, but Manchester United were interested in me.
"We had talks, but Atlético wanted me to be paid the full release clause, which is a lot of money for a 30-year-old player, so I understand why Manchester United dropped the idea of signing me.
"There were options with other clubs, but now I don't care anymore."
