World’s oldest professional player Kazu Miura '55' joins the 15th team of his career

Japanese footballer Kazuyoshi Miura, 54, is the world's oldest professional player and has just joined Suzuka Point Getters on loan.

He turns 55 in February and has joined the 15th team of his career, which is incidentally managed by his brother Yasutoshi.

Kazuyoshi originally plays for Yokohama FC in the Japanese top flight but could only play one minute for them last season as they got relegated.

Nevertheless, he's now set to play his 37th season and it's been reported that he plans to play till he's 60!

Reacting to the news, he said: “I am grateful for the opportunity to play here and will do my best to contribute to the club on the pitch.”
