On Tuesday, sporting director Jordi Cruyff and Xavi met Ousmane Dembele's agents, Mundo Deportivo's reliable Edu Polo says. Mateu Alemany could not attend the meeting because he had tested positive for COVID-19.
During the meeting, Dembele and his agent assured that the player wants to stay at Barcelona.
The Catalans are now optimistic that they will manage to find a satisfactory resolution by the end of the month. However, Barca's overall position hasn't changed.
At the moment, Dembele is frozen out of the squad since he refused the latest extension offer. Blaugrana have told the player to leave as soon as possible.
